-I just learned how to use the Twitter!!! It confused me at the first time but I think I'll enjoy to using it. I actually didn't know the meaning of "Edublogger" until today... However, I found I could get some help/advice from those previous/present teachers through the Edublogger.
-During the discussion, I was keep thinking about what is the true meaning of "learning".
Leanring... Learning....
I always thought that a life is all about learning.
I learned how to solve problems... how to be with others... how to live... And now I know that I learned all these from a school.
School is a place to shape one' identity, personality, character...
School=base
Life=Process of building+adding each individual' character/knowledge/value through learned.
Therefore, I think it is important to have a good quality of curriculum and provide a safe environment to the students. Also, encourage the students to know their are valuable, and they are the leaders of this society in the future.
-Meaningful social function of schooling/Implications for curriculum (how to justices choice we make): I think this is depending on the students and teachers' cooperation. Teacher has a choice to use and make a curriculum. However, it depends on the students' performance, level, and etc. For example, even if the teacher prepared class with a good quality of curriculum, it can be useless if that curriculum does not meet the students' need/level.
So, meaningful social function of schooling can be accomplished by challenge the students and meet the students' need with a support.

ReplyDeleteGreat advice about how twitter could be useful to you as an educator. I will often tweet asking for advice on lesson planning. For example I might send a tweet such as "does anyone have a link to a movie about Ethnocentrism." Often I receive 10 to 20 replies in a matter of an hour!
Thank you for your post.
Hey Seung,
ReplyDeleteInteresting post! I'll admit that I was a little tentative about using Twitter/a blog at first, but it seems like it'll be a great resource as you and Liz are pointing out! Also, I can't believe how much there is to learn about learning! Great reflection :)

This was a very thought provoking post. I particularly like your comment about the purpose of education and the need for the social aspect. Social activities are very crucial to the development of a human being. Teachers should be aware of this and plan lessons that allow students to socialize. I think that children can learn a lot from each other. I also think that as a teacher I will learn a lot from my students.
